Description: Proven Winner brand
An improved version of the classic 'Annabelle' hydrangea, producing stronger, sturdier stems that don't flop over with bigger blooms as well. White flowers begin to appear in early summer and open to huge balls of white. They then age to a lush lime-green, which persists through frost, with adequate moisture. Super easy to grow. Cut the entire plant back by about one-third its total height in early spring just as growth begins to emerge on stems. This serves to build up a strong, supportive, woody base while also encouraging abundant new growth for plenty of flowers. Hydrangea tolerates full sun only if grown with consistent moisture. Can adapt to a variety of soil conditions, but will not tolerate drought, which results in brown flowers and leaves. The foliage tends to decline considerably in dry conditions. Annabelle varieties are the only hydrangeas that will tolerate a shady location and still give you adequate blooms, and Annabelles are the only hydrangea that is tolerant of Black Walnut trees.
