Description:
The Peace Lily is believed to have gotten its name from its white flowers which resemble white flags of peace. It is not related to true lilies at all, but is toxic to pets. The blooms are also the source of its Latin name, Spathiphyllum, meaning “spathe-leaf.” The blooms consist of the spathe (the white, sheath-like leaf) and the spadix (the spike of small flowers located within the spathe). Keep soil slightly moist. Too little light can prevent flowers from blooming. These plants can be also grown in water. See Blog on Tropical Plant Care for more care instructions
