Description: Skyline Locust develops an upright, rounded growth habit with compound leaves. Provides filtered light as opposed to heavy shade allowing grass to grow, or a garden under its canopy. Fall colour brings bright yellow to the leaves, which practically disintegrate after falling, so little raking is needed. This is a thornless, nearly seedless variety of locust.
Locusts are one of the last trees to leaf out in Spring. Grows best in well drained, moist to average soil. Tolerant to Black Walnut, salt, and heat. Once established, it is also drought tolerant. Pruning is done in late winter.
