Description:
Ruby Slippers Amur Maple shows its beauty in early summer when the bright red samaras (keys) contrast against the green leaves. Fall colour explodes into brilliant red leaves. This elegant, compact maple has a dense spreading rounded canopy once it reaches full maturity. A great choice for a smaller landscape when you don’t have the room for a large maple. It prefers well-drained soil and will do well in full sun to part shade. Remember, the more sun, the better the colour in the Fall. It performs well in a variety of site conditions.
Pruning maple trees at the end of summer is an ideal time to do so. All maples except Silver are Black Walnut tolerant.
