Description:
This native maple has bright red flower clusters opening before the emerging leaves, and forms a small, dense crown of green leaves. The most attractive feature is the fall colour turning beautiful shades of red. Once established, it is a fast growing tree providing nice shade in the heat of the summer.
These maples prefer a slightly acidic, moist soil and is Black Walnut tolerant. Pruning maple trees at the end of summer is an ideal time to do so.
