Special Features: globe mophead habit, Golden yellow foliage, Slow growing, Winter interest
Graceful, thread-like needles that weep and drape over the entire shrub and brilliant, yellow foliage make this evergreen a focal point in any landscape. It forms a semi-erect, mop-headed form. It is slow growing and the size of the shrub can be maintained with minimal pruning, otherwise it will form a loose pyramidal, rounded form. Pruning is recommended in early Spring before the onset of new growth. Best planted in a protected area from strong winds, and from hot, scorching sun. It prefers to grow in average to moist conditions, and needs adequate water in a hot, sunny location. It is not particular as to soil type, but has a definite preference for acidic soils. A wood structure for snow protection during Winter is beneficial.
