Description:
Dark ruby-red buds open to pink, slightly fragrant blooms. The main bloom is in late spring, with sporadic blooming in late summer. Deep green leaves have a purplish-red hue. Weigela attracts hummingbirds & pollinators and is deer & rabbit-resistant.
Weigelas cannot tolerate standing water or wet conditions. Little maintenance is required other than to maintain the shape if needed, after flowering. Use hand pruners to remove any wayward branches. Weigela prefers well-drained soil.
