A great variety of cedar for hedging without so much pruning that is needed for white or black cedar. Green Giant grows uniformly and is perfect for a windbreak. It is very resilient and resists ice and snow damage, and grows in almost any soil type. A vigorous grower with a much more dense form than other hedge cedars. A nice specimen cedar as well with its natural conical shape. Plant 5 to 8 feet apart for a fast privacy screen. Most vigorous growth will be in full sun, but also performs well in light shade. It prefers to grow in average to moist conditions. This variety is a better choice for deer resistance.
