Description:
A strong, hardy, pyramidal spruce covered in rigid, tiered branches displaying the green to silvery-blue needles. The new growth in Spring is an amazing powdery blue, and this will mature over winter to more silvery green. A majestic specimen in the landscape contrasting beautifully with red maples, or can be used as a windbreak.

Drought tolerant once established and cannot tolerate most soils, but not standing water or wet sites. Weekly Adequate water is needed to establish the root system. A good watering every Fall, if rainfall doesn’t come, and a burlap wrap or screen over winter for the lst year is recommended. Blue spruce is one of the best spruces for salt tolerance because of the waxy blue coating on the needles.
