This Hinoki has gorgeous dense, lemon yellow colour and is exceptionally bright. Its strong, straight central leader and sturdy trunk make it a desirable garden specimen in the landscape. Site this tree where there is room for a large, dramatic evergreen. Give this Hinoki plenty of sun with ample moisture to achieve the brightest gold, but use caution in hot climates, where scorching afternoon sun may be too much. Hinoki cypress are not drought tolerant. Provide enriched, well-drained soil and avoid poorly drained sites. Little pruning is needed, only to maintain the shape desired.
