Description:
This Planetree is a fast-growing tree, developing a strong and uniform symmetrical habit. It is a fantastic shade tree that has maple leaf-like leaves. The exfoliating bark is a great feature once the leaves drop giving your landscape winter interest. It is resistant to anthracnose, powdery mildew, and frost cracking of the trunk. This London Planetree produces flowers that might be small, but will attract those beneficial local pollinators. Globular seed heads hang in pairs from long stalks. This cultivar tends to produce fewer seedheads than the species.
Every couple of years, you may need to prune any stray branches to keep its form, during winter.
It grows best in moist, deep, rich well-drained soil in full sun and will not tolerate shady sites. It tolerates most soils and is moderately salt and drought-tolerant.
