Description:
The Columnar Norway Spruce is perfect for screening or as a specimen tree. Its dense, narrow form holds up well to heavy snow-loads. A fast-growing, majestic specimen, where the growth is always neat, so it never needs clipping, but it can be clipped into an even tighter form if you prefer.
It does best in average to evenly moist conditions, but will not tolerate standing water, or drought conditions. Many evergreens grow wide, or the lower branches die, leaving the ground bare, but the Columnar Norway Spruce does not. It is not particular as to soil type or pH, but prefers slightly acidic, rich soil, and is salt tolerant.
