Description:
The 'Skylands Oriental' Spruce is an amazing lawn specimen. A symmetrical evergreen where the new growth is brilliant yellow maturing to yellow-gold in Summer. The more mature needles turn green on the inner part of the tree, making the yellow outer branches look even more striking. Sunnier locations bring out more yellows, while shadier areas bring out more greens. Graceful, layered branches bring forth beautiful red cones in the Spring. It has a pyramidal form, with wide branches that sweep outwards with pendulous tips.
This beautiful spruce maintains its colour best in a sunny location. Young trees need some summer sun and winter wind protection until they become established. Makes a good contrast in any landscape.
