Description:
This low-maintenance, slow-growing, compact tree is an excellent focal point for rock gardens. Soft new growth emerges in Spring showing its lime green growth, giving a two-tone appearance, until the new growth matures to deep green. The trunk of the tree will thicken every year, but will not get any taller. The dense top will withstand most snowfalls, once established, and is a deer-resistant species as well.
Little Gem Spruce prefers full sun to light shade. It does best in average to evenly moist conditions, but will not tolerate standing water. It will not tolerate a hot, sunny area without adequate rainfall or watering.
